What Are the Different Types of Codes and How Do They Work?

The discrete code blocks are set up by statistical analysis to reduce the possibility that two aircraft with identical SQUAWK codes will be in the same sector at any one time.

A transponder key has an exclusive chip inside that holds the ID code. When the security light of a car comes on, this means that the ID code inside the key isn't compatible with the code in the vehicle's computer. The immobilizer of the car will be disabled and it will not start unless a different key is used. The VIN code is a serial code with six digits that uniquely identifies the vehicle or truck. The last digit is the check digit and the other digits are transliterated to numbers. For example the first digit receives an eight value; then every subsequent digit grows by one until it reaches nine at the seventh digit, and then becomes two. Then, the whole VIN is converted back to its original form by multiplying the weight of each digit by 11. If the result is equivalent to the check digit, then the VIN is valid.
